Benjamin Britten’s St. Nicolas

Hi folks,

I am enjoying a summer break, but, excited to work on my web site in my free time.  I just posted some new sound clips, excerpts from a performance I gave of Britten’s St. Nicolas which was featured in the Madeleine Cathedral’s St. Cecilia Day concert in 2013.  You’ll find them in the oratorio section.  Check them out if you have a moment!  I love singing the music of Benjamin Britten.  St. Nicolas is a wonderful piece written in 1948 for tenor(Peter Pears), a small orchestra, organ, and a choir that includes children.

As you’ll hear, I’m surrounded by some incredible musicians and singers.  Much thanks to the Madeleine Choir School in Salt Lake City, their wonderful staff, and Greg Glenn who conducted masterfully.  I have such fond memories of working with this fantastic group and look forward to singing the amazing Hymns Paradisi by Herbert Howells with them again on November 22 in the glorious Cathedral of the Madeleine, Salt Lake City.

The Cathedral of the Madeleine is incredible; the stained glass windows were really what drew me in! This HDR photo was made from 11 exposures to capture all of the detail inside.
